Hit This Tiger

Friday, December 18, 2009

My newest stab at pop culture strikes again! Hit This Tiger Woods is a hit, even if it's this week only.

15 thousand plus views in 2 days! It's my most successful video. Yet somehow I feel a little conflicted. As an artist, I write about the world we live in. It's not just my world. It's our world. How can we make it a great place to live? For me the answer is simple, do what I love. I truly love music and I love humor. Put those two together and bingo, a hit. But I also feel sorry for Tiger's family. They are the ones who suffer the most. The media is relentless. TMZ and Perez Hilton are constantly updating their sites with all the juicy gossip. It's really ugly how our culture can put someone on a pedestal one minute, then destroy them the next. Some may say, Tiger did this to himself. I am not here to judge. That's not me.

Some people may see me as an opportunist. That's fine. Who isn't. At the end of the day, it's how we make people feel that really matters. If I can make you laugh, even over something terrible... well then how is that a bad thing?

This week I rose above the noise and was the 26th most viewed musician on youtube! That's a pretty big deal even for one day if you consider how big the Youtube community is. But I am not getting ahead of myself. This is not the end all be all of my career. I am really just getting started.

Thanks for all your support and comments.

Peace and Love,

Timbo

What a whirl wind!!!!

I'm a F**king Celebrity hit the Billboard Dance Charts a few weeks ago. That's two releases and two hits! I just got word that it jumped up to number 31 and is still climbing. It's officially a top 40 club hit. I love radio, but there is something special about expressing yourself on a dance floor with other people.I live to be alive and I'm alive with music and people of all backgrounds.

Despite the economy I have been busier than ever. I am so grateful for all the support I receive on a daily basis from my Clients, Family and Friends. Thank you for being supportive of my artistic endeavors.

More quality music to come. Wayne C and gang at Hawaiian Tropic Zone, thanks for a great year! Let's keep rockin! Thank you Swedish House Mafia. I am honored to be featured in your music video. Leave the world behind is a phenomenal recording. Jen, you are my rock. You keep me sane. To all the DJs out there supporting my art, thank you for giving me a shot. I have so much love to give this industry. I hope I can make you all proud.

I'd especially like to thank Twisted Dee, Steve Smooth and Simply Jeff for your kick ass remixes. I know how busy you all are, and I am grateful for your support.

DJ TIMBO RELEASES NEW TRACK
“I’M A F**KING CELEBRITY”

Single available now on iTunes!!!

Incredible fan response forces Facebook to “disable” account

Hollywood, CA (April 17, 2008) – Hot on the heels of the success of his hit tracks “Go Go Girl” and “The Olsen Twins Song”, celebrity sensation DJ Timbo is back with a dynamic new effort that spotlights his incredible talent as a producer and recording artist.  “I’m A F**king Celebrity” was originally due out in May, but due to the overwhelming response from media and fans, the single was bumped up to an earlier release date and is available now on iTunes.

“Celebrity” was inspired by society’s latest obsession with celebrity culture.  Similar to Eminem’s new single “We Made You,” “Celebrity” is a commentary of how everyone seems to possess a feeling of self-importance and is clamoring for their 15 minutes of fame.  “While we obsess over the obscene we desire, we cannot see our future.  The illusion of fame is made as we are stalking ourselves!” Timbo says.  The song has been getting heavy rotation in clubs and has burning up the internet being hailed as the “it track of the summer.”  In fact, the overpowering response in favor of the song forced Facebook to temporarily disable Timbo’s account claiming it was an “independent security” issue.

Even though Timbo's music pokes fun at being a celebrity, he's no  stranger to the culture. He was recently spotted by US Magazine DJing for Reese Witherspoon's 33rd birthday party.  He has been seen spinning at A-List celebrity events and most recently appearing in the Funny or Die video “Zac Efron’s Pool Party” with Queen Latifah, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden and Carmen Electra among others.

Hailed by Billboard as an “Unsigned Artist to Watch” for 2009, DJ Timbo has quickly positioned himself as Hollywood’s hottest DJ. His first single, “Go Go Girl,” hit No. 10 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart and became the dance anthem of the summer.  His follow up single “The Olsen Twins Song” generated a lot of buzz as the video became a huge internet sensation and depicted an animated version of a wild night out with Timbo and the Olsen twins.

DJ Timbo Rocks for Reese

Monday, March 30, 2009

If you haven't heard the gossip about Reese Witherspoon's b-day, here ya go. US Weekly covered the party.

I really hate gossip unless it's positive. All I can say is, Jake and Reese are really nice people!

Unsigned Artist to Watch

Monday, October 20, 2008

Billboard magazine does a spread on DJ Timbo as an unsigned artist to watch!

I have been working so hard for so many years but Wowsers! It seems like something clicked this past summer. All of a sudden, I have more fans and more press than ever before combined. It's getting a little hard to keep track. Maybe that's because there are 15 frickin social networking websites to constantly update. Maybe not.

I guess if I had my break earlier in my career I'd probably wouldn't have handled it right. Everyone I spoke to today was like "aren't you excited?" I thought to myself, "you did good, but the work continues so don't go buying a new Lambo." I have to stay focused on the journey and not the glory. Funny thing, once I started doing that, the glory sort of took care of itself. I don't know when or how my big break will come, but I know it's coming. And soon! I can feel it.

My good friend Sisely was in the same section of Billboard mag about a year ago. Now she is on a world tour with Shiny Toy Guns as their new lead singer. Go figure. She's a much better singer than I will ever be, but damn. That was her big break. Her video of Common Ground was the first I posted on Youtube. So maybe I'll know it's happening when other people start posting videos of me. Who knows.

So before I get ahead of myself, I am going back to work. To get ready for that "something" that will push my exposure over the edge. I just hope I'm not dead when it happens. It sounds morbid, but I am trying to leave each day as if it were my last. I'm not perfect, hell no. But I can strive to be the best at what I do. Because I really do care that you have an outstanding experience at my shows. I want every person to go home thinking their life was a little better than before. Maybe that sounds crazy. Maybe not.

I'm Home

90% of success is just showing up! My last event of the summer tour is tonight. It's 3am and I can't sleep. It's not that I'm too excited, I just drank too many Red Bulls today. Plus I am still recovering from Vegas last weekend. Wayne Crayne, you can hold your own brother. I'm pretty sure your right leg can drink me under the table.

If you missed the concept behind the GoGo Girl Tour, watch this video. I can't believe it's over, well almost over. You never know what can happen at Area nightclub tonight. There has been plenty of drama behind the scenes. That makes me believe that the last event could be really unexpected. So we'll see what happens. stay tuned to the Video blogs.

I just want to thank all the promoters we worked with across the nation. The offers are flowing into my Myspace inbox. It's a bit overwhelming. For those of you that passed on my tour, well too bad. Next time the price is double!

Next week I will write a wrap up, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I made it home. Funny thing is, we drove about 7500 miles without any major issues, and I get home and bam! Flat tire. How funny is that?

Over the hump!

Monday, July 21, 2008

It's day 38 of 60. More than halfway there!

The east coast was a blast. We had three parties back to back to back. All of them went well. In fact we haven't had one bad party yet and they just keep getting better.

I opted to skip Atlanta and go straight to Austin. There seems to be only one promoter there. Tucker Kroll. He runs game on everything. I have played for him once before but the timing just wasn't right for him. So, oh well.

We spent an extra day in Austin. What a great city. 6th street was insane. I can't wait to play there during South by South west. There's a guy standing in the middle of the street wearing a lizard thong. Hilarious. Apparently he's known.

It was birthday at midnight. Brandon brought out 4 shots lit up by sparklers. It was awesome. The party was on!!!!

I played until 3am then we went to an after party at Matt's condo. He tried to shave my head in front of everyone, and I was down. But at that point I was not thinking clearly so I am glad my manager Brandon was with me. Otherwise I'd look like I was joining the military.

We have been having a blast. Steve Saunders did a great job promoting our show. We had over 800 people. At least three different people approached me for a monthly residency in Austin. I can't wait to go back. Everyone was really great.

Then next we drove to Dallas to play the Lizard Lounge. That club was insane. I had no idea that the age limit was 17 and up. I have to admit I was not prepared for that. Texans love me some techno music though. Lot's of glow sticks and jumping. If you don't know what that is, it's a style of dance. Click here to see a Youtube video.

I might just have to make a Jump Style track. LOL

It's official, GoGo Girl hits the Billboard Dance Charts!

Today I picked up a copy of the latest Billboard magazine. I am pleased to announce that My debut artist release entitled GoGo Girl is number 49 on the Dance chart. I am so grateful to all the DJs supporting the record. It's been a dream of mine to make music. I just want people to dance and celebrate. It's a great feeling to know that people across America are shaking their asses to my music.

A big thanks to all the DJs who offered their talents and energy towards the project. Dave Aude´, Charles Feelgood, Twisted DEE, BEEP, Scotty K, and Robot Needs Oil. I would also like to thank Drew K my producer and all my fans and friends for your support.

Rock on! Onward and upward!

Independence Day

Thursday, July 3, 2008

Touring across the US I have had the pleasure of meeting so many people. A few in particular mentioned hey had served in Iraq. One in particular, Isaac from Traverse City had been injured. He was big fan of my work and I was honored to meet him.

As I push out on the road towards Philadelphia, the birthplace of our declaration of independence I am humble by those who have served in our armed forces. Whether or not you agree with the war, I support the troops. Tomorrow when I rock out, I am going to make a tribute to all our men and woman of the armed forces.

One of the reasons I rock out so hard when I perform is this. You never know how long you have to live, and while I am alive I will not take my freedom for granted. So Philly, I hope you come out to my shows this weekend, let it out your inner party animals and celebrate your freedom. If you are in the armed forces, please come up and see me at the DJ booth. I got a DVD of my film with your name on it!

The Ying & Yang of the Road

Tuesday, July 1, 2008

It's day twenty. Wowsers! Life on the road is a lot harder than I expected. But since it's my first time, I could only guess. Sometimes the days fly by, and other days seem to last forever. After my first show in Denver I started to get inside what I call the "tour bubble." That's where the REAL outside world seems distant, like a sunset.

The only thing I focus on, is getting to the next show and the obvious, updating the web vlogs. Next time I need a full time photographer and editor. In fact, I already starting making a list. But first things first. I gotta get through this. I have 40 more days to go and I am beyond homesick. It's a little depressing. When we arrive at our next stop I just want to sleep until show time. Then, the gig starts it's the biggest high ever. "All these people came out to hear me play?" Everyone is dancing and rocking out. I try to give them the best show of my life. They seem to enjoy themselves and so far the theory is working. We've already gotten some airplay, the feedback on the Olsen Twins is great and CDs are flying out of my hands.

I seriously have nothing to complain about. All my friends say that I'm living the dream. We'll the dream ain't easy but it sure is fun. I am grateful for all the people who have helped me get to this point. Especially Jen, Dave, Adam, Mike, Thom and Colette, Drew and so many others. Brandon is also working very hard and if he has time to read this blog I would be surprise. Thanks to all my new fans for helping spread the word of my music. I like to party and have a good time for them. It hasn't been easy but someone has to do it.

We're on the Road

Thursday, June 12, 2008

We have our Energy Drink, Giveaways and we're on a mission to have a hit record. My manager Brandon and I are off to New York and back over the next 60 days. We have no label backing us, so it's hussle and flow time.

When I was recording GoGo Girl, Jessica, Marvin, Drew my producer and I had a blast. It's hard to believe that's been a year since I began this endeavor. I thought about how much fun it was going to be to see peoples reactions to my music. If all goes well, I won't just be spinning the record at clubs, I'm be at Coachella in 2010, performing live in a tent with 10,000 screaming fans. You gotta have goals.

No matter how much you plan there is no way you can be prepared for 60 days on tour. I have always wanted to travel the US by car. Now it's on.

People tell me I'm living the dream. It's hard to accept the gravity of the situation. I'm in sort of in this euphoric state of mine, an altered reality if you will. The bubble of my focus has set in after only two days of travel. We have 58 days left. Wowsers!

I wish to thank my family and friends for all your support and kind words. If want to leave me a comment on myspace, click here.
